Chapter 1221

“That way, my brother will protect me,” Sandy said again.

Carla looked up at Sandy, “Then if you give birth to a daughter and marry Marty, he will be able to protect you for the rest of your life.”

Sandy smiled.

Suddenly she was expecting something.

If there is a day, will it be a fateful thing?

Ryan came up, and Sandy retreated.

He walked over to see Marty, who fell asleep at the moment, and he was fairly stable in Carla’s arms.

Ryan stretched out his hand, “Give him to me.”

Carla raised her head, his slightly tired face came into view, and said softly, “You sleep for a while, and let Marty stay with you.”

“I’m not sleepy.” He took Marty over, and Marty moved and continued to sleep in his arms.

Carla lowered her eyes slightly and walked out of the room, leaving space for him.

Downstairs, Lucia and Kurtis were about to go out to pick up the two children from school.

“Wear one more, the weather is getting colder and colder.” Lucia took a coat and handed it to Kurtis.

Kurtis said, “It’s not cold in the car.”

“It’s better to put it on, you’re old, you can’t be careless.” Lucia put the coat on him, Kurtis did not refuse, stood honestly, and asked Lucia to put the coat on himself. After putting it on, he tidied his neckline and said, “Let’s go.”

Kurtis looked at her and nodded, opened the door to let Lucia go first, and walked to the back to close the door.

Carla stood at the top of the stairs looking at them in a daze. Since Lucia divorced, she had never seen her be so gentle to a man.

Not long after they left, the doorbell rang, and she walked down to open the door, and a little brother delivering a courier stood at the door, “Excuse me, is Miss Carla Lane here?

Carla said, “I am.”

“This is your courier, please sign for it.” The courier brother handed a box over.

She signed and reached out to take it, closed the door, and opened the box. Inside was a fine jadeite carved into a delicate jade plate. She raised her eyebrows slightly, wondering who sent it?

Just when she wanted to put the jade card back, she saw a card in the box, and she took it out and unfolded it.

[I wanted to give it to your son in person, but since your husband is too stingy, I won’t bother you. I can only send it to you through the courier company. I heard about Nelson. I’m deeply sorry, I think he will hope that the living people will be happy, not grief. Those who have left will definitely pray for those of us who are alive in another world!

——Hubert]

Carla closed the card and put it back in the box. She took out the jade card inside and put the box in the drawer.

This was the heart of the gift-giver, and she readily accepted it.

She went upstairs and pushed open the bedroom door, and saw Ryan lying sideways on the bed, with Marty in his arms, sleeping peacefully, and he seemed to be asleep with his eyes closed.

She took out the thin quilt from the cabinet and gently covered them, took out the jade medal from her pocket, and put it on Marty’s neck. The little baby moved his pink mouth, and in the sleep was still sweet.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, she stretched out her hand to touch her son’s face, a trace of relief appeared on her face, and her eyes fell on Ryan’s face, a little more distressed.

He has hardly slept much these days, and has lost weight.

She held his hand and clasped her fingers, and put her body on his forehead and k!ssed gently, “You have many regrets in your life. I feel very distressed. For the rest of my life, I will accompany you.”
